Hey buddies!!!!

          Welcome again!!! First of all am sorry I didn’t update for 2 weeks… 2 whole weeks and I feel so bad. Sorry guys. I promise, I will do my best to be regular. So, what are we waiting for? Lets dive in!

          This week it’s a really… really….really interesting book, a science fiction, that is fast paced, thrilling and realistic. You probably guessed it, or would have guessed it if you have read my previous entry. Yes, it’s a book by Dan Brown, and the book of choice is “Angels and Demons”.

       First, let me give you a synopsis. This book revolves around a science facility CERN (it is a real facility in Geneva, Switzerland), a scientist, a Harvard professor, The Vatican, etc. The title of the book is a metaphorical reference to religion and science. For me, I felt it was a reminder for importance of science and spirituality going hand in hand.

          The plot starts with the gruesome murder of a scientist, one Mr. Leonardo Vetra of CERN. Maxmillan Kohler, the head of CERN gets the help of Mr.Robert Langdon a Harvard professor, specialising in ancient symbology, as he thinks the murderer of Mr.Vetra belongs to a secret society called Illuminati as Mr.Vetra’s body was branded by the ambigramic seal. The duo with the help of Mr.Vetra’s daughter, Vittoria Vetra, find the reason behind the murder. The Vetras have been conducting path breaking research to answer the questions about creation. They had obtained staggering results about the creation, proving the existence of a considerable amount energy to cause creation, thus by extension, the existence of god. They had simulated the big bang in the Large Hadron Collider (actually existent in CERN)  and also created samples of Antimatter (opposite of matter, it is not naturally found on earth and its atmosphere) and simulated an annihilation process. It was found that a canister with a sample of considerable amount of antimatter which when annihilated can completely destroy everything within half a mile radius, was stolen from the facility.

           Parallelly, some unsettling things happen at Vatican city. A surveillance camera is stolen from its original location and is set to transmit a video of a timer ticking down from an unknown location. Later it is found that it is the stolen antimatter canister. Mr.Langdon and Ms.Vetra go to Vatican city to find and retrieve the canister. Only after reaching there they realise the bigger picture. The Pope had died due to stroke and a Conclave of Cardinals to elect the next Pope was going to happen the very same day. Moreover the preferiti, the chosen four cardinals (the ones who have the major probability of being elected) were kidnapped to be murdered. Mr.Langdon, Ms.Vetra, the Swiss Guards, and the clergy race against time to find the antimatter and the preferiti. Did they find the antimatter and the preferiti? Who is the master mind behind this? What is the moto? Read and find out.
