Hiya folks!!!!!
Welcome
back! First off, I would like to thank you, my lovely readers for your support.
It made me even more excited to make the update. And sorry for the delay in my
update, things got kind of hectic. I promise I will try to be punctual. So lets
dive in!
Last
week was about different books, genres and my reading journey. This week would
be about different books and authors in different genres. Since fiction was a
preference in the comments, today we will see about fiction. Personally
fictions are my preference too!
Science Fiction
Honestly
the only sci-fi novels I have read are the Dan Brown books (6 books), Hunger
Games (3 books) and Divergent Series (3 books) each written by Dan Brown,
Sussan Collins and Veronica Roth respectively. While the former is pure sci-fi
with thriller the later two are also dystopian which means the plot is set on a
realistic but imagined state or society, which I reckon gives them a different
edge. Dan Brown writes all his novels based on institutions and facilities that
are really present and builds the plots around them in a realistic way. His
plots happen within a time frame of 2 or 3 days with a prologue that happens
some months earlier that builds up to the plot which makes it fast paced and
thrilling. The later two are quite similar to each other but with different
plots. I may write a blog reviewing these books.
Fantasy
When
one hears fantasy, the first book that comes to mind would be “Harry Potter
series” and the first author, of course J.K. Rowling. But even before I read
Harry Potter, I started my first fantasy novel journey (which was not
children’s fantasy… LOL) with the “Percy Jackson Series” PJO by Rick Riorden
which was based on Greek mythology. And he didn’t stop at that, rather he came up
with a spin off “Heroes of Olympus” HOO a combo
of Greek and Roman mythology. He also wrote another series “Kane
Chronicles” KC based on Egyptian Mythology. Again he didn’t stop, he wrote more
spin offs, crossover one shots, etc. Once you enter the fandom, its hard to
leave, Uncle Rick binds you! I introduced one of my friends(he writes the blog
Gamers Arena in this same account, do check it out), to PJO and he too got hooked.
He is reading the KC series now.
Midway when I was reading Uncle Rick’s books, I started reading Harry
Potter. Trust me, I was sceptical of it before I started. Many of my friends
were Potter Heads (Harry Potter fans) and they would be spewing spells all day
long. But when started reading…well I became one of them, a potter head.
And
for kids, Enid Blyton is awesome. She writes adventures too but, her fantasy
stories for children are really good with morals that spin around fairies,
goblins, pixies and more! Surely, kids would love it.
Crime Novels
I have
read only Agatha Christie, and my friend(the Gamer Arena guy :D) suggested me
Sherlock Holms by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle which I haven’t read yet. For me
Agatha Christie was really amazing. I fell in love with the first book that I
read of hers, “Murder in Mesopotamia”. The way she builds her plot, with all
the mystery, clues and twists is really amazing. For anyone who loves crime
novels, I really would suggest Agatha Christie.
That’s
it for today folks! Until next week delve into the magical realms of reading
and stay tuned for the next update.
See
Ya!!!
